Free NHS MenB vaccination

You must be eligible. The NHS service is available if you are:

  • Born between 1 September 2007 and 31 August 2008; or
  • Born on or after 21 July 2001 and starting undergraduate higher education in autumn 2026; or
  • Born on or after 21 July 2001 and entering eligible further education for the first time in autumn 2026 while living in college accommodation or halls of residence.

International students and students from Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man are included. You may need evidence of your university or college offer.

Already vaccinated? You are not eligible under this offer if you completed a qualifying MenB vaccination course within the last 5 years.

Meningitis B is caused by meningococcal group B bacteria, which can inflame the lining of the brain and cause blood poisoning.
